WHAT DIFFERS ASIAN TO WESTERN CULTURES?

This is from an icon series titled "East Meets West," designed by Chinese artist Liu Young. I'm browsing OPMB and I found this one interesting so I decided to share this to all.

Red = Asian

i have to agree with "The Boss" aspect:

I am working in a BPO company and my immediate supervisor before was an American. He treats his subordinates equally. He introduced the "First name basis" to everyone when calling your superior or supervisor. That's the reason why I'm calling him on his first name. As casual as, "Hey Mike, I already sent the report."

But, when my immediate supervisor (mike) got promoted, his replacement was a Filipino (external hire). We're very much accustomed with the western culture work environment. But when he comes in, he changed everything, including the way you will call your supervisor. He implemented calling your supervisor based on his position in the office (STM, TM, QC, RTA and so on and so forth) or simply Boss .

With that, it only shows that in Asian culture, the difference of having a position to a normal employee is as big as Mt. Everest. While in Western culture, position doesn't matter actually, as long as you know your job and you respect each other, everything will works fine.
